Arts and Community Infrastructure Foundation
The new non-profit landlord dedicated to securing and improving dedicated space for arts and community organizations.
Founded in 2024, ACIF is advancing a new approach to space stewardship—one that stabilizes rents, restores lost cultural spaces, and secures long-term access for communities. As a registered charity, we will mobilize community-driven financing and values-based investment, ensuring these spaces remain accessible, affordable, and thriving for generations to come.
Our progress to date:
- Received charitable status in February 2025
- Received funding for our Feasibility Study through the City of Victoria's Cultural Infrastructure Grant
- Received fundging for our Arts Spaces Forum through the CRD Grow Forward Grant
Please join our email list to follow along as we work towards a systemic solution to the ongoing closures of arts and community spaces!

Call to Action
Tell Council that we need a non-profit performing arts hub, today!
- The arts raise awareness of significant cultural issues like housing, food insecurity, the toxic drug crisis, and more!
- In our progressive society, we must continue to fight fascism through education, including through the arts!
- We continue to lose venues due to landlord profit motive. A non-profit building owner is the solution.
- Low-barrier arts spaces enable equity-denied communities to have a voice through the arts.

Alter Arts Society is a registered non-profit organization and community initiative by and for artists located on the traditional territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən people of the Songhees and Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) nations.
Those of us who are uninvited visitors to these territories, respectfully seek opportunities to unlearn oppressive, colonial practices that we have benefited from, and to follow the lead of the Indigenous stewards of these lands. We are committed to questioning existing power structures, supporting the decolonization of our society and institutions, and supporting Indigenous self-determination.
Brought to you by Alter Arts Society.
